🗓️ My Trips to Goa

      • First Trip: October 2021 – (New Delhi –  Goa, by Flight)
The weather was just starting to cool down after the monsoon, and the beaches were fresh, green, and full of life. It was the perfect time to enjoy both peace and party. The sunsets were magical, and the energy of North Goa was on full display.

        • Second Trip: September 2022 – (New Delhi –  Goa, by Road Trip)
This time, I got to experience Goa at the tail end of the monsoon. The rains made everything lush and beautiful. Fewer crowds, more nature, and a calm vibe. South Goa’s serene beaches felt like a private escape.

        Goa Day 1

✈️ My Arrival in Goa – Travel Tip for First Timers

I landed at Goa Dabolim International Airport at 7:55 AM in October 2021, flying from New Delhi. I took an early morning flight at 5:10 AM, which helped me save on ticket costs — a great travel hack! Early morning and late-night flights are often cheaper, and arriving early means you get the entire day to explore Goa.

Pro Tip: Always check for the best flight + hotel deals on our website www.mtsholiday.com or contact us for pre-booking discounts.

For my airport transfer, I booked a cab using the GoaMiles app, which was much cheaper than local transport union rates. Note that Ola and Uber do not operate in Goa, due to restrictions from the local taxi union — so GoaMiles is a convenient and affordable alternative.

Checked in at Sunset Beach Resort around 11 AM. The place feels fresh and welcoming. After settling in, I enjoyed some relaxing time by the pool. Later in the day, I went out to explore the local area around Candolim Beach, which is just a short walk from the hotel. Loving the vibe so far! Cost of a balcony room of ₹2200/- INR  per night on a double-sharing basis, that includes breakfast)

After spending a relaxing day at the beach, I headed to explore the vibrant nightlife at Calangute Beach—just 9 minutes away from my hotel. The area is lined with multiple open-air bars featuring live singing performances, and the best part? No entry fee! You can simply unwind, sip your drink, and enjoy the coastal breeze with music in the background.

Do keep in mind: in Goa, all liquor bars, pubs, clubs, and even roadside establishments are legally required to shut down between 10:00 PM and 11:30 PM.

Built in 1612 by the Portuguese, Fort Aguada was a grand defense fortress guarding against Dutch and Maratha invasions. Dona Paula View Point – Panaji, Goa

Located just 7 km from Panaji, Dona Paula View Point is one of the most scenic and romantic places in North Goa. Perched on a cliff where the Mandovi and Zuari rivers meet the Arabian Sea, this spot offers sweeping panoramic views—especially beautiful during sunset.

What makes it even more special is its connection to Bollywood. Dona Paula is a famous shooting location, and iconic scenes from the blockbuster film Singham, starring Ajay Devgn, were filmed right here. The dramatic backdrop of the ocean and cliffs made it a perfect setting for the film’s intense sequences.

        Goa Day 4

Chapora Fort – The Famous ‘Dil Chahta Hai Movie’

After breakfast at the hotel, I began my  journey with a visit to the iconic Chapora Fort, famously known as the ‘Dil Chahta Hai Fort’ because of the popular Bollywood movie shot here featuring Aamir Khan.

Perched on a hilltop, the fort offers breathtaking views of Vagator Beach and the Arabian Sea. The walk up is scenic and totally worth it, especially for photography lovers and those chasing that classic movie moment.

Though the fort itself is mostly in ruins, the history and panoramic views make it a must-visit. If you’re going during monsoon season, don’t forget to carry a raincoat or umbrella, as the weather can change quickly and the trail can get slippery

Divar Island Boat Trip-With Lunch & Water Sports

After exploring the historic Chapora Fort and soaking in its stunning views, I headed toward the serene Divar Island for an exciting water sports experience. The journey began with a scenic boat ride, and the best part—it included a complimentary lunch served on board, making the trip even more enjoyable.

Once I arrived at Divar Island, I was welcomed with a package of four thrilling water activities, all included in the ticket:

        • 🛥️ Jet Ski
        • 🍌 Banana Boat Ride
        • 🚗 Bumper Ride
        • 🛶 Kayaking

Each activity added its own fun twist to the day—perfect for both adventure seekers and casual travelers. This all-inclusive experience usually costs around ₹1,500 to ₹1,800 per person, making it a great-value combo of food, travel, and water fun.

Pro Tip: Carry a change of clothes and waterproof pouch for your phone. If you’re visiting during the monsoon, expect light showers and plan accordingly
